Drive Time

The morning and afternoon commuting hours when radio listenership is highest, typically 6–10 a.m. and 3–7 p.m.

Drive time refers to the two commuting windows — morning drive and afternoon drive — when the largest share of the audience is in cars and tuned in. These are the most valuable dayparts for both audience and advertising.

Because the stakes are highest here, drive-time shows usually carry the most-prepared talent, the most local content, and the tightest clocks.
