Tease (Teaser)

A short on-air promo that previews an upcoming segment to hold the audience across a break.

A tease is a quick line that hints at something worth waiting for — a story, a bit, a guest, or a payoff — without giving it all away. It is a specific kind of front-sell aimed at carrying listeners over a commercial break.

Good teases create a small open loop: enough curiosity to stay, not so much that the listener already has the answer.
