Segue
A smooth transition from one element to the next with no gap or interruption.
A segue is any seamless move from one thing to another — song into song, talk into music, segment into segment — without dead air or an awkward stop. Smooth segues are a large part of what makes a station sound professional.
Segues can be musical (matching tempo or key) or content-based (a line that bridges two topics). The aim is continuity.
