Time Spent Listening (TSL)

The average amount of time a listener stays tuned to a station over a given period.

Time spent listening measures loyalty — how long the average listener stays with a station, not how many listeners there are. High TSL means the audience sticks around; low TSL means they sample and leave.

Content that gives people reasons to keep listening — teases, benchmarks, front-sells — is aimed squarely at raising TSL.
