Content tied to current events, trends, or the news of the day, with a short shelf life.
Topical content is of-the-moment — a trending story, a local event, a viral clip, today’s weather angle. It makes a show feel live and connected, but it expires quickly, so it has to be gathered fresh and used fast.
The trade-off with evergreen content is timeliness versus longevity; strong shows carry both.
