Build your free Character Profile and personalize Ava's output for your show. Two tools, one goal: content that sounds like you.

Two updates today that change how Ava works for you.

First: We launched a free Character Profile tool that anyone can use — no account, no credit card. Answer 28 personality questions and Ava generates a detailed profile of who you are on-air: storylines, quirks, contradictions, humor style, and strategies you can actually use. It takes about 10 minutes and it's genuinely useful even if you never subscribe to RCP.

Second: For RCP subscribers, we shipped Ava Customization — a set of profile fields inside the app that teach Ava about your station, format, audience, and content preferences. Once configured, every interaction with Ava is personalized to your show.

These two things work together, but they're also valuable independently. Let me explain.

The Free Character Profile Tool

This is available to everyone at radiocontentpro.com/tools/character-profile.

You answer 28 questions across 7 categories — personality traits, strengths, quirks, inner world, reactions, and your on-air brand. Ava analyzes your answers and generates a comprehensive 13-section Character Profile:

  1. Synopsis — A snapshot of who you are on-air
  2. Character-Defining Quote — Your on-air battle cry
  3. Quirks — The wonderfully weird things listeners remember first
  4. Contradictions — Personality tensions that create depth and content
  5. Central Conflict — Your core "struggle bus" that generates daily material
  6. Potential Storylines — 8-12 recurring themes you can own on-air
  7. Sense of Humor — What makes you funny and what triggers it
  8. Positive Traits — Specific strengths, not generic praise
  9. Likes & Hates — Exploitable reactions for on-air gold
  10. Endearing Qualities — Vulnerability points that make audiences root for you
  11. Additional Traits — Hidden dimensions not covered elsewhere

You get the full profile on screen, plus downloadable PDF and Word documents — branded, formatted, ready to share with your PD or keep in your prep folder.

Why this matters: Most talent can't articulate what makes them unique on-air. This tool forces the introspection and gives you a framework. I've seen hosts print their profiles and tape them to the studio wall.

Ava Customization for Subscribers

This is the in-app feature for RCP subscribers at app.radiocontentpro.com.

When you set up Ava Customization, you tell Ava about:

  • Your station — Call letters, market, format
  • Your show — Show name, daypart, on-air personality names
  • Your audience — Target demo, psychographics
  • Your tone — Funny? Edgy? Family-friendly? Warm?
  • Content preferences — Preferred length, local focus, hashtags, CTAs
  • Topics to avoid — Politics, controversial news, whatever you want Ava to skip
  • Custom instructions — The deep dive. Inside jokes, catchphrases, recurring segments, local references. This is where the magic happens.

Once saved, every interaction with Ava — rewrites, brainstorms, content suggestions — is filtered through your profile. The difference is immediate.

How They Work Together

Here's the connection: the Character Profile tool generates an Ava Summary — a condensed version of your profile specifically formatted for Ava's custom instructions field. You can copy it with one click and paste it directly into your Ava Customization settings.

The flow:

  1. Build your free Character Profile (anyone, no account)
  2. Get your 13-section profile + Ava Summary
  3. Subscribe to RCP and set up Ava Customization
  4. Paste your Ava Summary into the custom instructions field
  5. Every Ava interaction is now deeply personalized

Or use them independently. The Character Profile is a standalone tool for understanding your on-air identity. Ava Customization is a subscriber feature for personalizing content delivery. Both are valuable on their own.

Before vs. After

Without customization, you ask Ava to tease a Taylor Swift story. You get something solid but generic:

"Taylor Swift just dropped a surprise album — your listeners are going to have opinions. Breakdown coming up next."

Could air on any station.

With a customized profile for a sarcastic Hot AC morning host in Denver:

"Okay, so Taylor did the thing again — dropped an album while the rest of us were sleeping. I've already listened to it twice and I have takes. Strong takes. You're gonna want to hear this after the break."

Same story. Completely different output. Because Ava knows who she's writing for.

Why We Built Both

We heard the same feedback from dozens of stations: "Ava's great, but I have to rework everything to sound like me."

That's a problem we needed to solve at two levels. The Character Profile helps talent understand themselves better — what makes them unique, what storylines they can own, what quirks listeners connect with. Ava Customization takes that self-knowledge and bakes it into the content engine.

Together, they turn Ava from "useful AI for radio" into "my content partner who knows my show."
