How to Use This Template

A blank prep sheet is the difference between a host who has something to say and one who is winging it. This one-pager keeps a full shift's worth of prep in front of you — no scrolling through tabs while the mic is hot.

What's on the sheet

  • Show details — date, daypart, and hosts, so the sheet works for any shift.
  • Top 3 talk topics — space for a single, focused angle each, because breaks are short.
  • Local & timely — a spot for the local story and the weather or traffic angle that makes the show feel of-the-moment.
  • Benchmarks & bits — the recurring feature and the contest or promo to mention.
  • Calls, socials & housekeeping — your phone topic, the social post to tease, and interview notes.

How to use it

Fill it out the night before or first thing in the morning. Print one per shift, or drop it on a tablet and type into it. The goal is one glanceable page you can work from live — sorted, trimmed, and ready — instead of a wall of raw research.

Pair it with the Format Clock template to lock down when each element airs.
